Actually took a fucking nap after work today. Didn't do much today still, but at least I'm not exhausted right now. Played a little more Elden Ring, currently one sacred tear away from having what I think is a fully upgraded flask (I don't think I can get any more charges). Most of the way through the Mountaintops, gonna clear the Snowfield I think and clean up some other stuff before I finish it. Idk when I'm gonna do the two optional endgame legacy dungeons, probably after the last required one? Also, I got into the Arknights Endfield technical test, so that's exciting. No one else I know seems to have gotten in, either.
Also a little bit of whiplash from the above, but I don't know if I've mentioned in here and I don't wanna forget again, so just to say it; I think the story for this most recent Arknights event (Hortus de Escapismo) is kinda just bad in retrospect. I know I said it was "heavy" when I was reading it; what I meant then was emotionally draining, but honestly it's kinda just shock value? The best element is a bit of shock value that I think really works, but the part where I stopped reading is some that really, really doesn't. I don't wanna figure out how to implement discord-style spoiler tags in HTML right now so I'm just gonna link to the story so you can read it yourself if you want and see what I'm talking about (CW for death, it's not a character dying suddenly it's honestly extremely fucked up). Also putting aside the story, the mechanics are all just. Bad. I can't even really explain them because it's like four seperate mechanics (the civvies/statues, the planks that can cover holes, the rolling boulders, and the enemies that limit DP) that just happen to work together. Idk, the event is just really disapointing especially as a sequel to what is genuinely the best event in the game (Guide Ahead). Sorry for the ramble I just have a lot of energy in my system right now and gotta get it out somehow, and this is a good way to do so.
