Finally managed to get all 39 pre-Roxanne pokes and move past her. Already managed to catch all of the pre-Watson pokes, just need to focus on evolving them now. The grind should be much, much less bad now that I'm past the very start of the game. The average wild pokemon gives I think twice the experience now, and wild Illumise have an 18% spawn rate, are basically harmless, and have an insane base exp yield of 146, meaning they give around like 220 at the levels I can encounter them at (not doing the math for that, just remembering what they give off the top of my head). The only long grind I have for this gym is Aron, which is a 3-stage line whose final evolution is at 42. The other pokes evolve around 30-ish, though most of them also start with dogshit movesets. I've also been funneling a good amount of experience into my Breloom to teach it Spore, but I didn't realize that it only learned it as a Shroomish. At level 54. It'll still be good as an attacker at least so I don't think it was a total waste but that still kinda sucks. Would rather more of that went into a teleporter, because that'll effectively be my only method of fast travel until post game.
