Played more Endfield today, got through the story in the first zone of the first area. The structure of the story is more-or-less the same as the alpha from ages ago but the plot itself is different and the area itself has been rearranged/expanded a bit. Except for the actual areas you go to for plot reasons. Tbh I haven't been paying a ton of attention to the story so far but I haven't been totally tapped out either, it's mostly unremarkable. One thing I will say is that I like how they handle weapons. Like MHY games there's a weapon gacha, but unlike MHY games the weapon gacha and weapon store are basically combined, meaning you both roll for weapons and buy weapons with the dupe currency, which I think makes it a lot better. There's no real conflict between having to pull for both a new unit and the new weapon obviously made to work with them, you can do both.
Lancer fired today but it was mostly unremarkable. Only being able to do two rounds of combat before needing to wrap up is just causing the pace of the game to be pretty slow but I think it's fine. We're all having fun and things are progression over the course of the session, just slowly.
