Today has been a very weird detour. I've had the sudden desire to play some battle frontier stuff in gen 4, but I don't have a finished save file in Platinum or SoulSilver right now. So naturally what I did was start a HeartGold playthrough, using the randomizer tool to replace my starter with Giratina. I know could have just downloaded a save file but I honestly kind of don't trust them to not be fucky. Giratina not being level 100 also isn't really a big deal, it's still so strong that it one shots most things anyway. I should probably add a Griseous Orb to my file just to put Giritna in its Origin form and have it hit a bit harder but it doesn't make a huge difference for just the main story. I've already got 5 badges, which I think is decent progress for just one day. Unfortunately you do need to beat Jhoto in order to unlock the frontier even though it's on Route 40.
