I was, in fact, almost done with the tutorial in PLZA; I stopped right before the last mission in it. But even then the world opens up a fair bit when you start that mission, though I didn't try to go outside of were I think the game expected me to be. The funny part is that the story effectively pauses once you get out of the tutorial, and just reverts to "climb the tournament ranks" for a bit, so I've just done a ton of exploring today. I even played a bit during some downtime at work, though I made sure that there wasn't anything I was supposed to be doing whenever I did. The Switch 2 being stronger than the Switch 1 has resulted in me actually using it undocked, which I think I only really did with my Switch 1 when I first got it. Of course I think there were some Switch 1 games that ran better undocked but that's besides the point. PLZA is really fun, though I think it would be a bit better if it wasn't a "Legends" game; having to catch redundant pokemon feels worse when it's not an explicit requirement and not the main form of progression, though I think it's really just a minor issue more than anything else.
