Played a touch more CK3 today, starting a run I actually intend to commit to in the steppe. I think it's going well so far but I only played about an hour so I don't have any specifics to talk about. Mostly just getting used to how nomadic governments are different. The money woes specifically are what's on my mind, which I think is kind of silly, but the game does require you to think about income differently. You can't just make buildings like usual (at least at the start, and I have no idea if they come with you), you instead have a domicile variant called your nomadic capital that you upgrade, and the only flat gold building there (which is better early game) requires you to border a settled domain. Instead, your main source of income is your herd, which functions mostly as a show of power and a currency for interacting with others; but in addition to that, the more herd you have, the more hoard you have (which you can either use as levies or turn into MAA), and the more passive income you make. Which is, IMO, a pretty neat way to handle money income for nomads, and honestly to me feels potentially more enjoyable than just "spam harbors from game start or Explode".
