Today was sorta the opposite of yesterday, I guess? Work was kind of a mess with my having to model a very annoying site for a report (hate modeling sloped perimeters for reasons that would take a while to explain) but I actually managed to Do Things after work. That Thing in particular was playing through a bit of Psychopomp Gold. Just through the first two levels so far but I like it. It's an atmosphere-focused horror dungeon crawler. The first level sorta set me up to start thinking of all the levels metaphorically, like each level would go off of what the MC rambles about in the prelude to it, but the second level isn't really at all like that. Honestly was kinda spooky, and I really like how one of the two proper enemies in the level is used. You have to walk down a really dark corridor filled with these arms that swipe out in a fixed pattern, but it's sitting there halfway down it. It's not really a jumpscare, there's no loud audio cue when it activates, but it's still a really effective "oh shit" moment because now you have to back up quickly while also trying to not get hit by the arms.
