I've spent most of the day today with CK3. Been playing as Rurik, game has honestly been going pretty well so far. My realm is kind of a disaster in some ways but most of that is at a level that I can't really interact with so it's not like I could really care about it in the first place. I've managed to win basically every war I've been in so far, though a few were helped by dumb luck (capturing the enemy ruler or their heir; in both cases I think I would have won anyway, but it would have been a lot messier of a process). I need to expand north in order to get some of the Russian Empire counties (the borders are basically the borders of the Kievan Rus'), but I also need to expand away from Russia in order to get some holy sites so I can reform my religion at some point. Idk if I can rely on reformed religions spreading to me (and the AI absolutely won't reform my religion by itself), and I just think it's easier and more safe for me to reform it myself. You need a reformed religion to move from tribal to feudal (or clan), which is required for most techs and buildings. There are other requirements, but religious reform is the one that's the least likely to happen naturally, which is why I'm so focused on it.
